Yazaki

Mr. Shigeo Hosokawa has been serving as the Chairman of Yazaki India Pvt. Ltd. since 2026. With a career spanning over four decades, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in various roles within Yazaki Corporation and its subsidiaries.

He began his professional journey in 1986 after graduating from university. His early career was focused on the manufacturing area at Haibara Plant of Yazaki Parts Ltd. from 1986 to 1991. During this period, he gained extensive experience in rubber and plastic moulding processes. He also played a key role in establishing a new moulding plant, ELCOM, in Texas, USA.

Following the establishment of ELCOM, he worked there as a Japanese expatriate from 1991 to 1996, where he was responsible for production engineering for injection moulding operations. After completing his assignment at ELCOM, he returned to Japan and took charge of Buhin business planning.

When Yazaki launched the company-wide NYS activities in 2000, he was assigned to deploy these initiatives across North America, including Central and South America, from 2001 to 2006. After this assignment, he returned to Yazaki Headquarters in Japan and joined the NYS Promotion Division. His long association with NYS activities, which continued through 2026, enabled him to develop deep manufacturing knowledge and practical experience that distinguished him within Yazaki. From 2014 to 2019, he worked at YIPL, contributing significantly to Buhin localization initiatives as well as overall production activities.

Following his assignment at YIPL, he became General Manager of the ECI Production Management Division and supported various ECI business activities in YIPL, including cluster manufacturing in Bangalore, Denso 12V CCS in Pune, and FPC CCS in Jalisana, among others. Before returning to YIPL as Chairman, his most recent assignment in Japan was with the Corporate Planning Division at Yazaki Headquarters in Susono until 2026. Although it was a relatively short assignment, it provided him with valuable exposure to a new area of responsibility that he had not previously experienced during his career at Yazaki.
